Hello all!

I would like to let you know that Boston Comic Con was a BLAST! Did tons of sketches and met a ton of new people. It was pretty awesome! Special thanks goes out to Bob and Mike of Comic Art House for the hospitality and makin' a brotha feel welcome! :)

I also want to give a shout out to the guys at Double Midnight Comics for allowing me to sign at their store the day before the con. Met a lot new faces there as well! They are a cool bunch of guys and I would LOVE to visit again. This time, I'll drag Ed McGuinness out of his house to come with me. I can't believe he lives not to far from them and never visits!

Anyway, the show was a blast, had a good time seeing awesome work and hanging with some of the industry's best. Folks like Sean "Cheeks" Galloway, Dexter Vines, Mark Morals, Ryan Ottley, Darwyn Cooke, Tony Harris, Greg Capullo, Adam Hughes, Dave Johnson, and comics legend Neal Adams! He actually needed me to help him find his way into the show! ...Funny... :)

Once again, it was a blast and I will be back next year! Despite all the Red Sox and Celtic gear plastered ALL over the place! ( GO HEAT ) ;-)

This weekend, I'll be at Heroes Aren't Hard to Find, in Charlotte, for FCBD. Those dudes know how to do a FCBD! Tons of artists and of course tons of comics! Artists like Cully Hamner, Jason Latour, Chris Brunner, and the "Kung-Fu Masta" himself ... Mr. Brian Stelfreeze! Along with tons of other awesome artists!

The show starts at 1pm, and the artists will be outside of the store, under a tent doing free sketches until 5pm. Or in Brian's case, until he can't see the paper anymore because it's too dark outside! lol....

I will also, like every year, be taking donations for my charity Hope Worldwide and mission work in Africa. So please come out and support by donating a little something (or a lot ) for a cool sketch!

But one of my proudest moments is having my first full gallery exhibition. The event was INSANE! Over 200 people showed up for the reception and I was blown away and humbled. Here are a few images from the reception.

Hello all... I have a pretty cool announcement.

A few months ago I was approached by the president of Dark Horse Comics to create a project for them. I found out that they were relaunching Dark Horse Presents and proposed I do something for that to get the idea established before I do a bigger project.

I along with up and coming writer Chuck Brown developed the concept " Rotten Apple ". About a girl who's powers comes from a city where she resides. More on that in the future.

I'm SUPER excited about this project. The response so far has been great. I hope you pick up the new DHP series, not just for my story but for all the legendary creators as well as hot new talent.

Let me first off wish everyone a happy and prosperous new year! I know my blog has been a dead zone for the past few months, but I PROMISE you I have good reason!

I have been working on some very tight deadlines getting things together for my MTV project, plus them crazy holidays filled my schedule. I'm also starting some exciting new projects for 2011! I can't go into much detail about these projects, but one thing involves a pretty sweet deal with Dark Horse. I will fill you in as things gets closer.

I also have some up coming stuff for one of the other big comic companies. I can say this, it goes waaay beyond comics! That will be announced more than likely at this years San Diego Comic Con.

That being said, I will be posting my Convention Schedule for 2011 soon! I also want to thank all of those who continue to show support by purchasing my art books, and originals. Last year was tremendous and I have sooo many of you to thank for that. 2011 is already crazy and it looks like it will only become bigger and better as the year moves forward!

RE: NYCC BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!

Just starting to recover from the overwhelming NYCC. This weekend was tremendous! NYCC was more than likely my most exhausting, fulfilling con ever! I was blown away by the crowd and all those who dropped by my table to show support by picking up my Deadlines book and my " 1000 " project.

On that note, my big announcement is I just signed a deal with MTV to produce "1000"!!!! MTV made a big announcement this past weekend about how they've established a new comic book line entitled MTV COMICS! They will be producing five exclusive, digital creator owned comics that will later be collected into graphic novels and then into all other types of cool stuff! I can can't say much but think of this as the relaunch of " Liquid TV " for the digital age!

The first title will launch early November and " 1000 " will start launching more than likely late Dec. So I'm super psyched about this opportunity! When the announcement was made on Saturday my interview made the main page of MTV.com. I was SUPER nervous about my mug being exposed to the world! But it was a lot of fun...nerve racking... but fun! On top of all this, when we did the panel I had the distinct pleasure of sitting beside the living legend, Stan " THE MAN " Lee!!! He has a title he's working on for MTV as well! I of course felt like I was ten years old just sitting there staring at him like.... WOW that's him!!!! He's a REALLY genuine and gracious person. He did something really cool for me that I was able to film on video. I will be able to share it with you all a bit later, so stay tuned!

One last thing, I will be posting the " 1000 " exclusive MTV poster here real soon, I hope you will dig! I'll also be announcing some other cool promos and contest everyone can get involved with. So keep an eye out for that. There's other cool things happening but that's as big as it gets for me at the moment! Now the work begins! See ya soon! :)

New York Comic Con 2010 - Update!

New York Comic Con is upon us and there's lots of really cool things developing. I will be in artist alley at table M8.

There will be a few very exciting announcements that will be made at the con. One announcement is for a video game project I've working on called Bleedout. I along with several well known artist are illustrating motion comics that will be apart of the video game. Artists such as Howard Chaykin, Tim Bradstreet, Ben Templesmith, David Williams and many others! We will be singing at the Archaia booth on promoting the game! Check the convention program or the Archaia booth to see what day.

I am also excited about being apart of another HUGE video game project, the DC Universe MMO due out late fall! I am one of the comic artist for the video game's motion comics! Each motion comic will be used as chapter breaks between each level of game play. From what I've seen it looks AWESOME! DC will have more great news about the game at the show!

Last but not least is the thing I am MOST excited about. It involves my creator owned property "1000". But I can't say much about it yet until the announcement is made at the NYCC!!! The one thing I can say is it should be pretty cool. I don't want to over hype this. hehehe... So keep your eyes and ears open about cool announcements from the show!

Sorry I have not been posting as of late. Due to my schedule it's been SUPER hard to update. But I have good reason... Tons of really cool projects!

I currently have a few pretty big things in the works! SDCC was a smash- despite being in the corner of artist alley!!! Sold out of my new book/project "1000" and a few other items. I will have a BIG announcements about "1000" soon! So there's tons of projects on my plate and more down the line.

With that being said, I will not be attending Baltimore Con this weekend due to my work schedule, but I am still down to attend Dragon Con! Will have my new book "1000" as well!!! So hopefully I will see you at Dragon Con! Thanks again for all your support!

Ok folks! I can FINALLY show some sneak peaks of my new creator owned project "1000" !!!

I've posted some stuff on DA and and on my blog. Once again, it will debut at the San Diego Comic Con July 21-25. It's been a TON of hard work in such a short period of time.

That being said, because this was something I pulled off in about a month and a half, there's a few things that you may want to see more of but, because of time we couldn't fulfill everything. But I must say, I am pretty proud of what was accomplished! Many thanks to all the guys that helped me get this off on the right track.

One extra cool thing to add is there's a soundtrack that was produced ESPECIALLY for "1000" ! The 1st 100 purchases of the book will get this CD for FREE! ( so don't wait ) All produced by my good friend DOSE who is a PHENOMENAL music producer and will surely blow you away! If you are into soundtracks like "Samurai Champloo" then your going to love this sound track!

Sometime after the con the sound track will be on my site and his for sale. There's tons of sketches and extras in the book, as well as some snippets of what my plans are for the future of "1000".

In world of were Aliens, Warlocks, Zombies, Warlords,

Ok good people. I know it's a little late to say this but I'll say it anyway.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

And boy what a new year it is already! TONS of cool things happening this year. I will keep you posted on these things as they get closer! BUT to start off the year I wanted to give you a run down on the Cons I'll be attending this year, and let me tell ya, it's quite a list. I didn't realize I had committed to so many cons. I guess I'll treat this like an unofficial Deadlines Vol 3 tour. Hopefully I won't drop dead from exhaustion! But here goes!!

Deadpool VS Santa?

That's right you read correctly! Deadpool takes on ole Saint Nick in a holiday special! This is pretty cool story I drew ( and had tons of fun workin' on it! ) for Marvel.

It's exclusively on Marvel.com as one of their digital comics. So if you got a little extra holiday money treat yourself to this story. If times are a little tight ( which I know they are ) then check out a few pages I posted of art from the story here.

Greetings to all and let me be the first to say Happy Holidays to everyone! I love this time of year! Starting to get my Christmas wish list ready! Games, Books, Movies and yes TOYS!!! Deadlines Vol 3 Update!

Ok.. A lot of people have been askin' me about my next sketchbook. Well I have a tid bit of good news! If all goes according to plan, I will have a new book out this summer!

DEADLINES VOL 3!!!

It should debut at the San Diego Comic Con. But fear not for those who can't attend that show, or any other show for that matter! I will soon have an online store for preorders, so be on the lookout for that.

I'll post the official book along with interiors once it's printed. But in the meantime here's sneak peak at the front and back cover. Keep in mind, for printing the front cover is on the right and the back on the left. I'll be posting some more cool news about the book and other stuff comin' soon!

Day 6 & 7 - Tokyo, Japan Trip

Well I'm back to planet earth and I see it's the same as I left... so I guess that's a good thing. I know by now you are tired of hearing this but I will be updating on a regular for a while. So let's get started!!!

Remember my "weekly" posts about Tokyo? I have images of DAY 6 & 7 to cap off the Tokyo experience. By now you probably aren't interested, but hey, I figured I'd post these anyway. In few weeks I'll be making some cool announcements so be on the lookout for that! So without further ado...

Day 6 & 7

This is the mecca of electronics!

I think they filmed some of the movie in this area!

Earlier that day, we went to the Imperial Gardens!

The guard was NO JOKE. He has to stand like that for at least 6-10 hours! Talk about bladder control! :D

The gardens were beeeaaauuutiful!!!

This was one of the statues we saw in the area. The design of it is SWEET! I had to get in a photo with it! Look at me... tryin' to act all hard!

Next day.... Time for more site seein'!

Later that evening I met up with my man Damion Scott. You may know this name from the DC comic book "Batgirl". He was the artist on that series for a while. He's also known for his spiderman run. He's been livin' over there for a while and is working on some really cool stuff while he's there. He showed me around this area called SHABUYA! A really cool place with TONS of art (really dope graffitti), music, etc. This is where the young crowd hangs.

Dexter Vines came along for while. He's lookin' real suspect in this photo...

This dude just came up to me and started talkin'. He was pretty cool. I was like... " man how could you where those tight jeans? "

Later that evening I went over to Damion's crib and studio. His entire apartment had graf all on the walls sealing and floors. It was INSANE! Here's a shot of his drawing table. So just image the whole place lookin' like that!!

The last day was really cool. I was about to head out and all of the SCAD students were waiting to say good by to me!!! " sniff, sniff "

So then I headed out for the airport. I had to take the bullet train. That was really something to experience. Bullet is not the word. Try lighting.

Last year Rob Stull ( inker supreme ) was asked to help organize and participate in an exhibit featuring the work of african american comic book artists at The Flint Institute of Arts in Michigan.

Beyond the Frame: African American Comic Book Artists presents the work of African American artists working in commercial, self-published, and web-based comic book and graphic novel genres. The exhibition will reflect a cross-section of artists, some well established, others emerging and active in new areas of publication, such as Internet-based web comic art.

Day 5 - Tokyo, Japan Trip!

Ok... I know what you're thinking... "Sanford still hasn't posted his entire trip to Tokyo on his blog!" I'm really am sorry, with so much going on it's hard to get all of this together and get it to you quick. I promise to complete my posts on the Tokyo trip within the next week:) Stay tuned! Also, I will be posting some cool images and news about my next few projects, which includes an exhibit I am apart of at the Flint Art Institute in Michigan. But first things first...

DAY FIVE!

Here we are about to enter The Asakusa Temple. As you walk up towards the temple there's a ton of markets that sold everything from Jewlery to ice cream. This place was a blast more details in the next few pics.

Before you enter you must wash yourself in smoke. Yeah you heard me, SMOKE! It's a Japanese custom to do so. It helps keeps the bad spirits from coming into the temple with you!

Some cool statues as you walk in. This one is actually kinda creepy....

As you walk in they'll be people praying before Budda. It was kinda neat to see all ages there.

Lake View Terrace on DVD!

Ok... let's take a quick break from the Tokyo overload and get back to some art...

Some of you may have known that I did some design work for this " Lake View Terrace" ... If you have not seen or even heard of this movie. I encourage you to go check it out! This post features some art and designs that I created for this movie. In fact some of my art hints to the main plot of the story!

It stars Samuel L. Jackson as this overzealous LAPD officer who lives next door to this young interracial couple. He takes care of the neighborhood. But then it tuns for the worst. He seems to have some issues with the young couple and begins to make their lives a living hell! This movie gives the term " neighborhood watch" a whole new meaning!!!

What's his motive for this outrage? Well go cop this flick and find out! Now on DVD!!! Hope you enjoy the movie and my art!!! Here are the designs for LVT!

Day 4 - Tokyo, Japan Trip!

DAY FOUR!

Here we are setting out for another fun, education filled day.

We were headed for the Ghibli Museum.

We arrive at the world famous Ghibli Museum. It features the the ground breaking animation and behind the scenes of Studio Ghibli and it's founder the legend Hayao Miyazaki. If you want to know more about this awesome museum check out this and other sites! www.ghibli-museum.jp

We could only take pictures of stuff on the outside. I was bumbed about that but it all worked out. I got some cool shots. ( You see soon! )

Like I said I got some pretty cool shots outside. Here's one. It's a 50 feet tall metal sculpture of the robot from " Laputa: Castle in the Sky"

It was just as popular as the works we saw inside!

Day 3 - Tokyo, Japan Trip!

DAY THREE

Back on the train to see some sites!

Don't look now but there's whale comin' out that there museum.

This museum was cool but the mammoth was pretty awesome lookin'!

It was getting dark when we left that museum. Now we head out for some shoppin' before it got to late!

We head back to catch the train.

Here's a shot of the great Mark Shultz. Notice the sign right over his head. That's a build board of a Big Mac promo. I just thought it was interesting.

We arrive in the district known as Akihabara!!! Out here is where you can find tons of the latest anime, books, toys and games! I found some pretty sweet items here!!! ( More on that later! he he he )

Gumball/type machines like this one can be found on very block, every corner. It's full of toys!!! Isn't that awesome!?!?

After shopping, we headed back to our hotel. I was a pretty full day. Time to get ready for the next adventure!!! Stay tuned!!!

Day 2 - Tokyo, Japan Trip!

DAY TWO!

Rise and shine in Tokyo!!!

Here some very privilege students of SCAD. Ready to start their day in Tokyo.

The kids are starting to head out to get to our workshops!

Like I mentioned earlier, this trip was for the students to study abroad and also learn a few trade secrets from me along with a few other artist. SCAD worked with personnel in Tokyo to help facilitate us for 2 weeks so we could do lectures/workshops. I gave them some assignments that we would work on for the rest of the week. Here they are hard at work and it's only one day one!

After the workshop we hoped the train and headed for our first day of sight seeing.

Got my first " Japanese " FLAVA DRANK...

We arrive at the entrance of one of the oldest temples in Tokyo. The name escapes me at the moment.

Day One - Tokyo, Japan Trip!

Let me start off by saying HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! But now it's time to get back to drawing board. But before I get back to it let me catch you up on a few things.

Most of know that I went to Tokyo a few weeks back (last year if you want to be technical about it). I want to apologize for not getting pictures and news updated sooner but due to the Holidays and some close personal issues it pushed me back a lot longer that I thought it would.

Well... I think I am finally ready to fill you in on my INCREDIBLE experiences in Tokyo. One I will never....EVER forget. I brought back tons of pictures and some cool videos to share! Stuff that I thought I would never see in my life (So get ready to be green with envy! :D). I want to thank Ray Goto and the rest of the faculty and staff of SCAD for selecting me to be apart of this awesome venture. So without further delay let's see Tokyo!!! Well... sorta...

DAY ONE!

We arrive safe and sound in Tokyo.

While we were waiting for out bags I get my first taste of the culture. A Japanese guard greeted us and introduced himself to me. I thought it was really cool because he spoke a bit of english mixed in with Japanese!

We took a picture together and out of no where he throws up this semi " gansta " sign and nudged me to pose like him. I was like WHAT?!! So I struck the pose and here we are two international GANGSTAS!!!!

After arrive at our hotel we were desperate for some true Japanese grub!

Here's my first Japanese meal... Raman!!!! What else would it be? :D

After the meal I went to bed. I know that sounds boring but believe me, there some REALLY cool stuff comin' up next. So stay tuned!!!

Going to Japan!

Well.... I'm heading to Japan for a week!!! I'll be leaving November 29th. I'll be there for 8 days and I am sure I'll be busy the entire time! My main purpose there is to do some lectures and workshops for the sequential art department of Savannah College of Art and Design. The school is flying me out to work with a select group of about 25-30 students showing them my process in the comic industry and also showing them how I conceptualize ideas for animation, toys and games, fun stuff!

When that's all done I'll be going on a Japanese pop culture binge! I'm gonna snag all the latest anime, manga, games and toys I can stuff in my extra suite case! I'm also hoping to find some out of print art books I've looking for in the last 10 years. Also gotta get the wife and kids something cool! So I am making my list and checking it twice! I am beyond excited!! Last year London (flew out on behalf of WB to work on the Dark Knight) this year Japan! I LOVE my job!!! I promise I'll be posting TONS of pics and a few videos of my trip. I may be able to drop a few post while I'm there! See ya in a few!

I am back from the dead, and let me tell you I have never been so far behind in my life! So much happening right now, but I am finally back on track (I hope). That being said, let me first off introduce you to the new website/blog of SANFORDGREENE.COM!

I am very excited about what's to come here in the near future. I'll be posting the latest interviews, music, videos and of course tons of art! Look for more daily-weekly cool news and such (I promise to be on top of this!!! ). So on that note here's my first post...

A few months ago I mentioned I had the pleasure of going to London to be apart of the DARK KNIGHT production art team. I was a part of the merchandise and promotional art group. Here are a few pieces that I did for the project.
