On SEPT 2, 2011, I will be a featured guest at COLA-CON, where hip-hop music meets comic book culture.
This one day event will be held at the Columbia Museum of in Art (Columbia, South Carolina) and be an event of comic book artists, vendors, visual artists, lectures, panels and music.
Headlined by Talib Kweli (as a special guest DJ) along with some of the best hip-hop and alternative artists in the southeast, the event is a one of a kind experience compared to other comic related functions.
I will be in a panel discussion titled 'Comics and the Visual Culture of Hip-Hop' exploring the way comics and other forms of sequential art explore hip-hop (and alternative music) "as a means of empowerment, expressions and celebration." The panel will include John Jennings author of 'Black Comix: African American Independent Comics, Art and Culture' and more.

Hi Sanford,
really wanted to tell you how much I've enjoyed Rotten Apple on DHP#2. So I'm waiting to read issue 3 soon. BTW, I'm the guy doing colours on Number 13, other serie on DHP.
